Weird thought came to mind but, I can envision this VN to be a fleshed-out game to that of Dynasty Warriors. Having to fend off hoards of Monsters to protect your home and allies, relying not only on your mana vision to look for weak spots and openings but also on your friends to unleash powerful attacks to gain the upper hand in battle. Strengthen your bond with your friends by engaging with them both inside and outside the battlefield. Doing this not only reinforces one's attacks and combo potential but also allows the protagonist to share more intimate and sentimental values. Of course, the game would be story first gameplay second, but the way you incorporated mana into your story undoubtedly has potential.
I noticed that there wasnt any guides for those who wanted the juicy scenes so ill share the steps for the current 4 I know:
Rune Jerk-off:
In the first mana vision segment of the gameplay, dont wack him at any moment and wait till he shows his clan jewels, aka balls, then proceed to afternoon and he'll invite your for a more "thorough" examination, if you disagree after agreeing then you can unlock an alternate dong version.
Alon Blowjob:
Listen to the weapon arguement and choose a decision, then say that the reddest dicks are best, you will then unlock a decision when you talk with alon where you can ask about his sex life, continue for the lewd choices till he makes you play a bet with coin toss, winning the coin toss (via save and reload) allows you to invite him to the baths, losing will trigger the Blowjob scene.
Thistle 69:
Visit cooper in the afternoon by leaving the tavern, then listen in to the fanfiction of thistle and you can barge in after a moments, after the whole teak, cooper, massage shenanigans, thistle will invite you for a talk later on when you go hangout with max, when you have the talk, you can choose to flirt back to him and it'll lead to you and him fondling and 69 scene inside the car.
Burry Sex Scene:
Make sure your bomb code isnt easy to do, then just go through the whole burry route till you reach the decision where you can use the bomb on the bath door, refuse to use it and save it for when you battle the monsters, proceed to the whole story till you reach the decision where you can hug him or kiss him for that damn knot.

I don't really understand this "to do" list; do we have to follow it in order to progress the story? I'm trying to pursue Rune's route, but in the "To do" list, it says to "spend afternoon with Max". If I ignore it and don't do it right away, will I be able to progress with the story?
When you were first given the Mid-Afternoon scenes choice, you got an information that none of the content in Shelter is missable. That's true. TO DO simply shows you what content you haven't seen yet, and you should just do it in whatever order you want. Don't treat it like something you have to "win". Just explore it.
Been playing again and again but I can't stop loving it. Burry's story was interesting and makes me understand him a lot! I also love that Rune is a Husky cause i love Husky dogs so much! BUT, there's one thing that bothers me this whole time: The "Forced Drama" between Luke & the pack.
Luke tries desperately to become one of them, but it's not what he really want: he thinks the dogs as "Human companion substitute" which means he only want a place he belongs.
Luke can never become one of them (dogs) as he'll always be different (human) - unless you add-in transformations tho that'd lose the charm you've already built up
But Luke does not need to become one of them to belong, He should acknowledge and respect the differences, then work on the bridges - which he did nothing toward
For a community that encourages "Variety", This Forced Drama conveys quite troubling messages
On that note I think you did Teak (the racist) right - it's only one extreme individual that doesn't represent the pack, and can still be a good boy

Seriously, I cannot describe how much I enjoy this game lmao and I'm sure many others would say the same, unlike all these other dating siomulator-drama-trauma-adventure mixes around here this one doesn't leave a week's worth of depression and also it doesn't rely on romance to make it a good game but rather it relies on the characters, dialogue, and friendship building to make it a good game. If I could give it ten stars I would, but yea I highly recommend this game for anyone wanting to take a break from emotional traumatic adventure dating simulators and just want to actually make MORE THAN 2 DECISIONS throughout the whole game, I highly recommend this.

First off, You have outdone any expectation of visual novels I had so far! Horniness is part of the living world and for us feels completely intimate, but nature doesn’t care. Telling that it is part of their culture is interesting, yet there is little lingers of intimacy when we talk about exposure. But let’s get this out for now, and focus on the whole structure.
Creating a world, living beings and giving them character is hard enough, yet you did it swiftly. I love the playful demeanor of the canine structure and their ¨abilities¨ Which it makes sense why a human can understand canines/human like language. Yet! There is so much dept in every nook and cranny, I have played for around 50 hours now. Boy o Boy, it is full of lore.
Lore and world building in a single space adds a controlled environment, and for this reason it was a wonderful journey. To tell the truth, I wished more drawings on some areas, but even without them, the description of each area was enough to bring imagination into the reader.
For the people who are reading: Luke is the name of our main character, he lives in a world of despair, and he seems to be the only human in a pack of dogs. Due to the nature of people, it is hard to fully get a friendship between both factions. The Canine, they go by their instincts yet have the friendliness equals to a dog in real life.
Overall, let me say what I think in each category so far:
Art Design: It is done what only needs to be done! I did see some little details, even background characters reacting to The Main Characters actions. Sometimes funny, Other times confusing, but it worked.
Music: It does its purpose, and conveys emotion when it is needed. I can say that even I was enjoying them while playing. Sometimes songs lent to distract from the story, but not in this case.
Narrative: World building, Story telling, Mood, Actions, Feelings, scenario, even conversations entered naturally when starting. The world opens slow enough, so you can start understanding the whole scenario. I was crying, laughing, even feeling the anger of the main character.
Sadly, I was blinded for anything of my path, I choose the wreckless route and ended dying with my friend from choosing what humans normally would do.

Endings: So far there is only one and is Burry as our main controlling point. The character itself is a charming fellow, with a tragic backstory, I can’t say much or else I will spoil the content. This character has a fascinating relation with our main character known as Luke. Many of the 4 main character guiding Luke show to have at one point fallen in lust. But our character doesn’t remember the most meaningful moment he had with them until chaos arrives, he will remember and know more later when danger arrives.
Burry, is a wonderful character showing what a coin is like, it has two sides but one of them is stuck with his past and his true nature, the other side shows his true nature also but in kind. He changed thanks to Luke, and every character so far share that feeling.
World Building: Due to the nature of the world and its characters, they have MANA, a true wonder of fantasy for sure. MANA is explained and is remarkable to have a full gasp of the basics in the world. The land around said world is a desert of snow, with a structure known as shelter. It is a human invention, but we do not know its full capacity yet.
My opinion: I had my own laughs, sadness, anger even horniness shared in the journey. I grew fond of some characters and fully understood their points of view after tinkering with their stories. So far, it is a Game I Do recommend trying. It does not jump directly to lust, but it is part of its structure.
My problem so far was Alon our 4th wall breaker. Talks to us, and we do have 2 little affairs with him, which is nice. He critiques us in our endings, many of which are because of a lack of understanding of the situation or literally a fast pace press of ¨catch¨ button. I do not hate him at all in the contrary I enjoy his demeanor, but. Kinda wish we had a little more talk.
My concern with the plot. It is really short. To be honest, the whole scenario is done in a single day! And I do not mean day in real life, I mean in game. It was only a single issue solved in a single day. Which to be honest doesn’t feel romantic, if it is supposed to be. Even if it is not romantic, the whole ordeal it is done in a day, and lefts a lot of potential of getting more personal or even friendlier with the characters.
But it doesn’t change at all, my opinion is a wonderful game and a lot of time put into it. And is a journey to be enjoyed and cherished.(I might have done more nonsense writing than a review, to be honest…)
As usual, l came for the porn and then got caught up in the compelling well written story with the amazing characters. Finished the Burry route crying like a love sick teenager and then Alon showed up and I'm laughing my ass off. Great Job.Love this VN.

1. Burrys thoughts about how he is stronger than Luke and how there is no one to stop him and that Luke would be powerless and helpless to oppose Burry.Yeah i guess this may be me projecting my own tastes but idk Burry practically saying "I could rape Luke and nobody can stop me" while in the middle of having sex made me feel super uneasy and left me looking at burry in a less favourable light.Again its your story,you have the final say but I just feel like we could have gone without that and it sadly soured the experience of that scene for me.
2. I understand that not everything will be answered here but having the epilogue be a bullet point list is very underwhelming,I felt like so much was skimmed over.I get that its probably because more is to come so this wont be the final end but still as is right now it feels incomplete.

I've been waiting a while to ask this, but decided to wait until the end of the 1irst rout incase it was explained, and seeing as it wasn't... "n_n Is this world based in the same 1ne as the "INU" universe from the comic series on Furaffinity? :/ Monsters are similar, magick's identical, species list, all that good stuff is the same. Or perhaps did the concept for Shelter simply spring from that comic?

Haha thanks mate! I had this magic/species system thought up a while back, and it was prepared with a generic fantasy world in mind. When I was making INU, I thought that maybe it was a good opportunity to try it in action there, so I could see how it works before get to use it in another project. I had to make some adjustments since INU was a videogame world, but it was super fun to use there :D
Its use in Shelter is much closer to its initial intended environment. Magic is real there, and it's a part of the World's natural laws, and that comes with so many fantastic consequences.
In short, the worlds of INU and Shelter may have shared elements, but they aren't based off each other.

I was a little worried that a buncha plays became stuck in the game through a virus that rendered them catatonic, got thier memories all mixed up, and that non of this was real "^_^ would have been a great twist, but with Burry's tragic backstory, I think all our hearts have taken enough of a beating, so I'm glad that beating came rather in the form of a knot~ :p
Btw, xou had another comic that was abandoned, "Sheep Theft", and after xou finally revealed Luke's face, I couldn't help but notice the similarities between Luke and Rick from the comic :3 I was sad to see that comic cut off before we got the knot, but after receiving Burry's... UwU #satisfied~

What are the conditions for unlocking the save game slot? At first there were only 3 channels, and then there were 5?
Put the Barkest corner, when you end some of way, there's a lot of, it will open you another save slots
Do things, rutes, and other things of To-do, that unlocks the saves

Oh god ok,listen Raus and everyone im saying this in advance i love this VN.Just putting that out there cause unfortunately i did not vibe with this update.
Firstly,congratulations on finishing the first route of the game! It was a long journey to get here and its awesome you made it this far! Also i hope you and your family and loved ones will stay safe i can't imagine the stress youre under.
.......So time to get into it.All in all i have like only two gripes with this update and they are as follows:
1. Burrys thoughts about how he is stronger than Luke and how there is no one to stop him and that Luke would be powerless and helpless to oppose Burry.Yeah i guess this may be me projecting my own tastes but idk Burry practically saying "I could rape Luke and nobody can stop me" while in the middle of having sex made me feel super uneasy and left me looking at burry in a less favourable light.Again its your story,you have the final say but I just feel like we could have gone without that and it sadly soured the experience of that scene for me.
2. I understand that not everything will be answered here but having the epilogue be a bullet point list is very underwhelming,I felt like so much was skimmed over.I get that its probably because more is to come so this wont be the final end but still as is right now it feels incomplete.
Im really sorry i was so negative in this one,but I cannot stress this enough I still love this VN and im sure the rest will be great.Hope you stay safe and have a good day Raus,bye.
It's okay, you don't need to vibe with every single update. That would be an impossible expectation.
It's a work-in-progress project, and more is coming. I hope you'll be satisfied once we hit v1.0 and we have the whole picture :)

I've been waiting a while to ask this, but decided to wait until the end of the 1irst rout incase it was explained, and seeing as it wasn't... "n_n Is this world based in the same 1ne as the "INU" universe from the comic series on Furaffinity? :/ Monsters are similar, magick's identical, species list, all that good stuff is the same. Or perhaps did the concept for Shelter simply spring from that comic?
I could rant about how great Shelter is after the 1irst ending, but I'm not about to flood the comment section UwU Xou're best boy Raus! >_</ As a writer, an artist, the works! Shelter is arguably the BEST VN on itch.io! Much love! Awoo~!
Haha thanks mate! I had this magic/species system thought up a while back, and it was prepared with a generic fantasy world in mind. When I was making INU, I thought that maybe it was a good opportunity to try it in action there, so I could see how it works before get to use it in another project. I had to make some adjustments since INU was a videogame world, but it was super fun to use there :D
Its use in Shelter is much closer to its initial intended environment. Magic is real there, and it's a part of the World's natural laws, and that comes with so many fantastic consequences.
In short, the worlds of INU and Shelter may have shared elements, but they aren't based off each other.
Thankx for the clarification! I was a little worried that a buncha plays became stuck in the game through a virus that rendered them catatonic, got thier memories all mixed up, and that non of this was real "^_^ would have been a great twist, but with Burry's tragic backstory, I think all our hearts have taken enough of a beating, so I'm glad that beating came rather in the form of a knot~ :p
Btw, xou had another comic that was abandoned, "Sheep Theft", and after xou finally revealed Luke's face, I couldn't help but notice the similarities between Luke and Rick from the comic :3 I was sad to see that comic cut off before we got the knot, but after receiving Burry's... UwU #satisfied~
